FIRE DOORS & STEEL FRAMES

Won-Door Joining System

Won-Doors Joining System was developed for a cleaner & brighter future. The process eliminates toxic gasses & dust created by conventional assembly methods.

Won_Door_Joining_System.jpgAdvantages of the new Won-Door Joining System

  • The surface coating of the ‘Zincanneal’ material has not been compromised because the new frames have been assembled without welding or grinding. This gives our customer a frame that is not susceptible to corrosion at the joints.
  • CSIRO fire rated test to meet AS1530 Part 4 1997, test number FSV1148 Our new metal door frames are environmentally friendly because we are not producing welding fumes, grinding dust, noise from grinding or using products that generate greenhouse gases.
  • Our new metal door frames have neat corners that have not been rounded off by excessive grinding. The metal at the corners remain the original thickness because it has not been ground thin. This results in a joint with a neat appearance and very high integrity.
  • Our new metal door frames have been assembled in a jig which ensures each frame is manufactured square and uniform. Our frames are made to a high standard and are of excellent consistent quality.
  • Joining_System_Assembly_Detail.jpgIt is not necessary to prime our new metal door frames because the original metal coating has not been damaged. We use high quality ‘Zincanneal’ material from BlueScope Steel who state ‘The coating, which possesses good adherence to the steel base, provides a corrosion-resistant surface produced for painting directly with high quality finishes without any additional surface treatment such as priming, except for severe external conditions where etch priming is recommended for optimum perforamnce*.

Assembly of the new Won-Door Joining System

  • Site Assembly: The Won-Door frame is easily assembled on site. Simply screw through the Stiles to the Head Section (screws are supplied with frame), see figure 1.
  • Factory Assembly: See figure 2.

*The Referee 28th Edition

Please Note: For etch priming to be effective the top coat must be applied to the surface within 20 minutes of being primed, for this reason it is recommended that etch priming should be carried out on site if necessary.
